Cyber Monday (was supposed to be about "Web 2.0")

Today is what they're calling "Cyber Monday", or the day that kicks off the online holiday shopping season, the net's answer to Black Friday.

We are seeing an interesting increase in shoppers choosing to stay home and do their shopping online and on the online sites of major retailers. (An obvious choice perhaps, if you hate malls even 1/100th as much as I do.)

Monday, December 12th, is predicted to be the peak of it all.

A couple weeks ago, Yahoo! introduced it's variation on the online mall theme when it launched Shoposphere.

What's so special about "Shoposphere" and what does it have to do with "Web 2.0" and what does that mean at all to anyone?

The short answer is that it's all a variation on my theme which is how the Internet world's evolving and how marketing is changing on the internet.
